Liverpool v Arsenal. Can't they both lose?

Bony is going to be a City player.
I used to Support the Elephants in the past for obvious reasons.
Now just wish Yaya & Bony go the distance and lose in the third place match of ACON..

Impressive from Dowd to keep it just to 1 goal against Soton.
Could have easily been 3 pens for Soton for Smalling tearing Pelle's shirt 3 times and some.

If Manures need to go somewhere Van Gaal needs to get more refs like Dowd.

I think the ref was probably watching both players, not just one <ok>

You can't defend Smalling he almost had his shirt off at one corner as shown on MOTD def penalty, yet another bottled decision in Manchester

One corner on match of the day i will give you KO, but i watched the full match <ok>
Every game you see now has defenders grabbing and pulling at each other in the area, that`s why refs just talk to them, because it is impossible to decide who to penalise.

I watched the whole match too and that's not entirely true in this case. I mentioned MOTD because they highlighted the transgressions ( plural)

Not to mention the fouls or assaults rather, on Cahill and Terry. Cheating gits.

There were 2 separate 100% penos from what smalling was doing. The second of which, he was literally undressing the Soton player.

How dull has LVG made United (or Yawnited ;) )?

All that attacking talent and they are so dull. Di Maria looking the inconsistent player he's been most of his career as well. UIR's prediction he'd be player of the year looking laughable. £250k a week Falcoa not even on the bench. What is going on up there?

LvG needs to drop Van Persie and Falcao (who are both made of glass and imo, on a downward trajectory) and stick Rooney upfront.
Every season they have played Rooney as a No.9, he has bagged 20+ goals.
    I would go 4-2-3-1

    De Gea
Four of their makeshift defenders, whoever is fit
    Blind Herrera
    Januzaj Mata Di Maria
    Rooney

    And stick with that.

Good shout though Carrick may warrant inclusion. Falcao will never be signed permanently based on what I've seen and agree RVP already looking a shadow of the player he was under Fergie. That was always going to happen with him being 30+ with a bad injury record.

We always got slagged off for spending loads and not being attractive enough but this LVG team is something else. People got over excited with that Dutch win over Spain. They were ****e the rest of the tournament really and went 240 minutes without scoring in the knock outs. LVG is not a top line coach anymore - hence why he nearly went to the spuds.

Yeah forgot about Carrick, swap Blind for Carrick.
But other than that, when they are all fit, that would be my team.
Why he persists with ****ed up 3-5-2 formations i dont know.
I understand his point, kinda, he is trying to protect what is otherwise a weakened defence, especially with all their injuries.
But all he is doing by crowding the midfield is denying Mata, Di maria and Rooney space and stifling any service they could give to the front man, be it RvP or Falcao or whoever.
He isnt playing to their strengths, which is great attackers, he is trying to band aid their weakness, a **** defence.
I say just let unleash em for this season, yeah they will concede alot but they will score a **** ton too, and it did Liverpool no harm last season, they were a whisker away from the title. yeah they conceded 50 odd goals, and using that method means you will get the odd result like they had against Leicester, but its better than this reserved, boring, cautious, overcrowded play that they are exhibiting right now, and the results lately haven't been good either, no wins in the last 3 games.

Go back to when they put that winning run together as well and plenty of lucky results in there. Arsenal and Southampton spring to mind. I think they won both games scoring 3 goals with only 2 shots on target!!

LVG certainly wasn't happy to be compared with Moyes at the weekend (same points from 21 games). funny as hell.

TBH Carrick is mostly used as 1 of their unsettled back 4.
So that lineup is pretty decent. 200M layout has unsettled Manures more.

Usually every year Manures just cheat their way out all tight situations.
This year their luck is incredible and add to their core cheat strength.
If not for above - they will be worse than dire.
What are the odds for LvG to be sacked before Chosen one's tenure days?
