I don't know whether to laugh.... or laugh hysterically. I wouldn't wish AVB on anyone.... except Spurs. He truly is a joke of a manager and out of his depth and by the time the year is out, the media and all rival fans will realise that and maybe our senior players might get a little less flack. The easiest start (on paper) of any of the top 8 teams and they still can't win a game. With Reading and United away coming up they'd do well to get 3 points from those 2 games. So at best a return of 5 points from the first fairly routine 5 games. Midtable obscurity beckons
Made me laugh yesterday how HIAG was on here shouting the odds about how AVB would turn good given the chance. Far from what he said last year...
That's nothing. There was one of them that basically said with RDM as our manager we were in no position to criticise AVB. Scary
Some think because he was sacked from West Brom then he's **** for the entirety of his career despite winning both FA Cup and CL after taking over a down, ruined and confidence lacking squad of players. Rivals are always going to pick the bad points, I've been told on here so many times the ratio of games won compared between AVB and RDM yet these people fail to see we were playing more games than our rivals for 4th and placed our concentration solely on the CL before the Arsenal away game. Oh I see Anelka and Drogba have been released, love us to get Nico back till the end of the season! Hope Drogba stays well away from England aswell.
Conflicting reports. Apparently they've just been released for international duty. At the end of the day even though RDM was sacked by WBA he still masterminded an away win over Newcastle as well as being the only manager not to lose at Old Trafford having come back from 2-0 down.
Weekly surmise: Man City - Weren't brilliant but showed they don't need to be to win games. Man United - Not impressive against Southampton, didn't deserve to win but showed the fighting spirit that has brought them so many trophies under Ol' Red Nose. Arsenal - Looked good against Liverpool. Incisive counter-attacking and Steve Bould seems to have really whipped their defence into shape. Spuds - Only 2 points this season and lucky to have those. Just starting to realise exactly why Chelsea gave AVB the boot. Liverpool - 1 point in three games, worst start since 1927. One thing I noticed in Arsenal game though, they were putting lots of crosses in the box. If only they had someone who could attack them, can't think of anyone though
So United won that in typical Fergie style. Media will be blowing copious amounts of smoke up their arse despite being outplayed.
Would rather a conventional 2-0 win then all that. Arsenal and Wenger are so easy to despise right now.
Yes we were poor, very poor infact but thats now two time in a row we have come from behind to win and we didnt do that once last season. Its probably fair to say we wont be that bad again this season and we seem to of got our never say die attitude back. A desire to win we didnt have at times last season Bodes well.
Yeah great fight back, but if that were us the press would be all over it like a rash. Thought Saints deserved a point out of that but that's football, we all get lucky at times.
