Bingo - you celebrated because it stopped the Mancs winning it and there were reds in the crowd who were cheering for Blackburn.

Same as when you LOST at home to Chelsea, there were reds celebrating their second goal

i.e. it's exactly the same as some Blues saying they'd take a defeat if it stopped you lot winning it.

As I said, it's not my view, but I can understand why some think that way.

p.s. Angry little man aren't you lad? you should calm down son your blood pressure will be sky high. There's really no need.....

  5. This conversation may have started from this (can't be arsed to read back) but surely not wanting Man Utd to win the league when our season is already and we have nothing to play for is better than wanting you team to lose to Man City to deny Liverpool the title even if it costs Everton top four? You won't find many Liverpool fans wanting us to lose if we have something important to play for, hell, a lot of us don't want us to lose despite it being a pointless game!

in jest of course <whistle> we say similar then it's bitter lol.
blood pressure is fine thanks for asking, and i'm not little , i suspect you are though :bandit: or was that some lame attempt to try and belittle me?

we won our game, we didn't throw anything, be so sure utd would not do the same as well if it was other way round, ie they would go for the win just like we did! ok lol

Do you really think that come the City game - assuming that we are still in the hunt for 4th - that there'll be Blues openly cheering the away side?

Come off it mate, if it was a meaningless game, then you'd get exactly what you had at Anfield in the 2 games mentioned - no doubt about it. But with 4th as the prize it'll never happen and any Blues saying they'd see us get beat in that game are the ones chatting ****e, and I've no idea who they as I don't know any of them.

My point was merely that some of the sanctimonious 'bitter' comments were hypocritical.

  10. Fair enough, if its a meaningless game then I understand it. Personally, I'd still want my team to win but know others don't take the same stance.

If the roles were reversed, I'd want Everton to win it. Maybe others are the same so thats where the bitter comments are coming from? Or maybe its just because your a bitter fan <laugh>

Given you seemingly can't read and digest a simple football thread, I'm not surprised an every day word like patently has thrown you mate ;)

  13. The players will always try to do the right thing in these situations. You have to remember that there are a lot of international teammates and outside of football friends involved in these things, they would lose all respect if they rolled over.

love to see some samples of why this word would be used in everyday life, seems a bit too posh for everyday use unless you are a toff. (pun wasn't intended lol)

Lots of new flavour combos are now available in supermarkets. Quite a range of popcorns too, from bog standard to luxury style.
