Totally agree it was a nice gesture.<ok>

I find it wrong though that less high profile players make similar gestures or gestures of support to sick children's causes and don't receive the same plaudits.

So let that be a lesson to them to win the ballon d'or before making kind gestures.<grr>

One reason to strive to be the best... so when they make a gesture it get's reported <laugh>

Do agree though, footballers get a lot of stick but, the amount they have to pay in tax means the rest of us don't have to pay as much and they do a lot of stuff in and around the community (probably forced to by the clubs) but also do a lot of work for charity which goes unnoticed.

  4. Surely people thinking we can we the league would say they don't care? <whistle>

I don't think we can win the league...

However until it's mathematically possible I won't stop hoping.

  6. I don't think we can and its not why I put the question in the first place either, just occurred to me whilst reading the responses. I should have ruled out the draw though it seems.

I'd prefer a Spurs win. They are six points behind, we have a game in-hand and I think we will beat them at Anfield so why not hope for a points gap between us and Arsenal?

Because I think after the last few years we're a lot more cautious with predictions and would rather have a big gap from 5th place in the hope that we don't **** up and miss out then make things tighter between us and Spurs.

  8. I know it's "ifs" but if we beat them and win the game in-hand, we'll be twelve points ahead of them anyway.

I agree on the caution point <ok>

Yup and I think if we were talking 5 years ago then 99% of us would be hoping for a Spurs win safe in the knowledge that we wouldn't be able to **** things up from this position... but the last few years have changed that.

  10. Plus, I suppose the draw damages both opponents hence people sitting on the fence <ok>

I was one of the people that said we needed to secure fourth and go from there, I just think we can do that by not losing on Sunday and beating Spurs in a couple of weeks.

Could also do that by not losing on Sunday and Arsenal/Spurs drawing. Would also mean Arsenal don't get away from us either <whistle>

  12. But if we beat Man Utd and Spurs, I'll start to believe in the title hype too <laugh>

Us pushing for the league only provides me 1 fixture a week to enjoy so my wishes for other fixtures are based on comedy value not any perceived threat

Kompany sent off for being the last man back when bringing down Jelavic. Game on!
