But this season is different from others where a lot of teams are losing more games. Wouldn't be surprised if you lose 8 or 9 games this season but still end up challenging for the title.

These lesser teams that City are dropping points against on the road, well from January onwards they'll be playing them all at home and the so called bigger teams away. This reduces the chances of City dropping points.

Surely that increases the chances of them dropping points?

So far, it looks like the top 8/9 are all capable of taking points off each other. Don't see any reason at the moment why that would stop and I think it will be a much closer title race than in previous years which could be because of teams dropping more points.

No Van Persie for United. Injured?

Be interesting to see how United get on without him, although I think Hernandez is probably one of the best 3rd choice strikers in the league so not a bad replacement.

Should have been a red for rooney there. You can't just kick out at someone for getting in your way. Joke decisions this weekend!!!

Rooney just kick someone? Should have been a red or wasn't it that bad?

Player blocks him off as he is getting to the ball, a little pull and push and then Rooney just swings out at him, ball is no where near either.

Just seen it on the replay <doh>

How can he book him for it, which would suggest he's seen it and not send him off.

Riley is going to need some soothers after all the apologising he's going to have to do this weekend!

It was a combination kick and punch on a player about 5m away from the ball. A red all day every day for anyone not playing for Man Utd.

Not for the first time this weekend a ref has bottled the big call for fear of 'spoiling' the game and being the focus of attention.

    Now Rooney scores ffs!!!

  19. Not seen it but going from comments on here, this is were refs don't help themselves. They seem to fear missing something completely over getting a decision wrong. When something goes off, it is fairly obvious when looking at player reaction, they dish out the yellow to save face.

The other side of it is they bottle the decision like yesterday with Miralles. Dowd had a good view but...
