Good news is Man City lost so even with their game in hand surely that's them out. Arsenal are clinging on but surely now a two horse race
Same here - I also don't have any trust in Liverpool helping us out after their performance either. With our goal difference it is more like 4 points clear - either way the magic number is 83 points for the title on our own merit.
Sky Sports punits, Souness, Quinn & Carragher voted 2 to 1 is still a 3 team race. I am slightly perplexed that there was much discussion regarding our title bid possibly being derailed due to nerves, pressure telling, no experience of getting over the line etc etc. How is this the case for us but not Spurs. I got that argument when it refered to Man City but Spurs aren't in any more familiar territory than us. Has Pochettino any more experience of managing a Premier league title bid than Ranieri? What's really that different in our positions? Apart from the 5 points obviously. ...
The Spurs have two tough games in a row now , a hot Liverpool team and ManU . I feel a Spur stumble coming , just win your next two .
I want bournemouth to go down and to get rid of smug Eddie Howe I still think the draw at our place is the most disappointing of the season bournemouth are likely to stay up but do wish second season syndrome on them
7 games to go and unknown territory for both teams. Suspect they'll be ups and downs for both before the end of the season. Ranieri has handled the situation brilliantly and the team have have performed way above expectations all season - let's hope both continue. Whatever happens this has been the best season in my lifetime. I wouldn't wish ill on anyone but wouldn't it be good if Kane tweaked a hamstring whilst on international duty.
Wanted Eddie Howe to replace SGE and think he has done a great job at B'mouth. Keeping them up is a terrific achievement and hope they can stay up next year as well instead of perennial strugglers like the Geordies and Mackems. Personally think Howe comes over really well and I don't see him as smug in any way. Should have beaten them at the King Power but penalty miss proved crucial (let's hope not too crucial at the end of the season!)
They have taken 4 points off us this season, I'd rather that they went down and Newcastle "6 points next year" United stay up i've no ill will against Bournemouth though, what Howes done is fantastic, but hes gunna have to share the smugness with ginger Mourinho next season in the bottom half. I don't see this either, the fact is, we went through pressure at this point last season that would have been waaay more nervous on the players than this. If we were regularly finishing in the top half and we were edging towards the title, then maybe we would be feeling more pressure than we are at the moment. Nice to hear a spurs fan say that they would actually not mind losing to us on the radio, he knows the greater good ...
I fancy a Liverpool reaction next week at Anfield and Man U are now playing for something and Stoke Away are never easy. Tough run for Spuds
Our last matches are all against teams who have something to play for, with the possible exception of Everton who can cause anyone problems on their day if Lukaku is on form. So it's not going to be an easy run-in for us. Arsenal definitely have the easiest remaining fixtures. Spurs are looking relaxed and playing open flowing football at the minute, but there isn't the same pressure on them. The real pressure comes when you are out in front and there is so much expectation (not necessarily from Leicester supporters!). It's like leading in a marathon but you've always got the worry that Mo Farah is going to come through at the last minute and take it all away from you.
Oh yes, that was another thing. Our 1-0 wins are a sign of nerves accroding to the wisdom of Souness, where most others have described grinding out a 1-0 if you don't play well as a sign of champions. It is if Chelsea or Man U do it eh? Now I'm not saying we might not get nervous or have a catatonic capitulation but unfounded aspersions are unwarranted. We are going to have our best ever top flight (PL) finish whatever the outcome. Kanté will intecrept Farah Bucks don't worry
Back to the grind - Arsenal and Man City both won 4-0 so are turtling it up to our hare. Am hopeful for Liverpool to help us out vs Spurs but considering their last performance when they gave up 2-0 lead vs West Brom and seeing Fermino is out I'm not too sure...
