Moyes has improved every team he's managed. Twice taken relegation candidates to one if the league's best sides.

When I get to my pc I will copy and paste some stuff I've posted on the spurs board about moyes. Considering I was one of those against his appointment, you can see why he's been hired.

I can certainly see why he was hired.
My only point is that there is always uncertainty when a new manager arrives, despite their previous records.
Look at Chelsea for instance, all the managers we have had.
Scolari was a world cup winner and had been successful at other clubs, but fell flat on his arse.
Its just something United arent used to, the new manager sydrome, having had SAF in charge for so long. But it could easily go either way

Its true that it could go either way but theres no point in us United fans being depressed. I think we are all pretty positive and excited, if a little nervous about the new era at the club but its seems like some expect us to be a bag of nerves, writing Moyes off before a ball is kicked and losing our minds.

It's exciting. I remember Fergie being appointed. I didn't expect to have to wait 27 years for the next manager to be appointed! You'd expect Chelsea fans to empathise more than most with our feelings of excitement. They get at least one new manager a season.

Yeah, pre season friendlies are always a really good indication of how the season will go.

We'll see you in August pal.

Do you think we'll manage to stay in the PL or is relegation a possibility? Also, do you fancy putting your money where your mouth is? If United finish outside the top 4 I'll pay you 5 grand. If they are in the top 4 you pay me 2 grand. That's a fair bet laddy.

Let's not be so blasé Ruff. The last time we lost our first pre season game was in the 98/99 season.

We can only pray this season doesn't go as badly for us as that one did...

Oh yeah, I remember. We also lost 4-0 to Arsenal in the Charity Shield.

We were doomed then, just as we are now.

Just as long as we don't fail to win any of our first three league matches. That would bring back memories of the 07/08 season.

    The horror.

Fairly sure we got 1 point from 9 at the start of the 92-93 season.

    Fergie out.

Last season we went to Stamford Bridge 4 points behind. A win for Chelsea and the league was over in October.

    Fergie out.

Ah, it was two from three in the 07/08 season. Draw with Reading and someone else, then loss to City. Fergie out, Utd in decline, never going to win anything again.

**** it, I'm off to knot my bedsheets...

Exactly, no reason to think Moyes can maintain his 33% win record once he faces some decent competition.
