england's run rate was the third fastest ever for a test team scoring 500 or more.

the two faster ones were set by england last month and last december.

You know what, i was there yesterday and was surprised at their body language. Heads seems to drop quite quickly and looked quite jaded. The three bowlers looked like they were running in treacle round the boundary edge.
We’ve played a perfect test match would be a real **** if we don’t get to finish them off, and they retain the Ashes.
Looks like tomorrow’s a wash out, just hope there’s enough play on Sunday to finish them off. At least the bowlers will be rested for a day, to really have a go.
Great to see YJB back to his best with gloves and the bat.

Extraordinary. And yet yesterday, they seemed to do it without taking too many risks. I thought Aussie tactics were really poor, they made it very easy.

It'll be such a shame if the rain spoils this match and ends the series.

Like I said yesterday it’s so frustrating that the sun is still shining in Manchester and they could have easily played until 7.30pm in the knowledge there’ll be no play tomorrow.

I don't think the Aussies have looked that great, or even that interested, all series. Which makes it all the more frustrating that we're 2-1 down and relying on the weather to save the series for us
