Very sad, a man that gave so much to this club. Cannot believe that he has passed away. Anyone know any details, I did not even know he was ill!!!

A great man and a perfect gentleman. I was lucky to spend 15 minutes talking to him at the player's awards night a couple of years ago. He was talking about moving back to the area to be near his daughter.

In a world that the word "legend" is banded about far too easily, Graham Taylor stands head & shoulders above anyone as THE Watford Legend.
RIP Graham - eternal thanks for making us proud to say we supported Watford and thanks for being such a decent man.

A sudden heart attack apparently. I was aware that he had recently moved to Kings Langley and was looking to get involved in village life, so this was totally unexpected. I don't think there is anything I can add, we all know how great a man he was on and off the pitch. Let's hope the fans and the players do him proud on Saturday.
I have treasured memories of him when I lived in Lincoln, such sad, sad news!

There aren't the words.
I wrote to him three times when I was a child. Each letter of mine was met with a very personal reply and his treasured ink-penned signature at the bottom.
He is, as w_y says, THE Watford legend. I admire him as the sort of man I would aspire to be and that I work so hard to make my children.
His achievements were massive. The manager who scored more points in the '2 point for a win' system. And he was the manager who scored the second highest total too, with a different team. Amazing.
90th of 92 when I started supporting the Hornets. He took them to 2nd of 92. No one in the history of football has achieved anything close to that.
Integrity higher than anyone in football. An honest, decent man. I loved him. I love him. Words don't start to say how I feel.

I think that he did something magical at Watford. He made us all believe that this was OUR club. My wife could recognize his voice when he was talking on the radio, and has always thought he was so honest and sensible. I believe that his spell on the board was not a happy time, but he was determined to make sure that what he had worked towards would not be lost.

I'm so sorry I will not be there in my usual seat on Saturday to pay tribute to this remarkable man. The whole of the PL and the FL should show their respect to such a great servant to football in general. I'm sure the 1881 will rise to one of their normal impressive displays.
I am sure the Boro fans for one will be respectful when the minutes silence/applause happens.
