The leukaemia proved far more aggressive than was first hoped. A great journalist who did her job with style and an air of understanding that made her reports interesting and informative. Sue travelled wherever necessary to report on the abuse of human rights; she made many friends and just a few enemies. RIP
I think so, but it was 'the culture' back then so no surprise there have been a few casualties. A proper old school manager though. That Everton side of the mid 80's were a great watch.

He did. The joke in Liverpool was the the reason he signed Paul Rideout was that the chairman had rung him up and said " Howard you must get dried out". Great player though. Remembering him wowing everyone as the youngest player to appear in a Cup Final for Preston against West Ham. And then a couple of hours later I went out to see the Rolling Stones. Those were the days.
I work in the place Howard lived and he did indeed have troubles but was universally liked by reds and blues. He was always dapper and made an effort every day to look his best and was a true gent. rip
Just wanna say something ... This thread is pretty amazing in some ways shows us for what we are, a decent bunch of people with different views. RIP to all the people affected. Some of the things wrote really get me and bring so many things flooding back and none of them bad, that's what time does. Heals but never forget.
