no, but it looks like such news was mistakenly spread recently. he had his 100th birthday on december 9th last year.

Is he really dead this time?
I quite like the idea of his family keeping winding the BBC up by telling them he's dead and then telling them he isn't just after they announce it
He was, in my opinion, treated shabbily when he was taken off Sounds of the 60s recently due to ill health, when he was saying he was ok to do it
Radio will be a ****ter place without him on it, a sad loss
