Using similar logic why are people so up in arms about Russell Brand grooming a schoolgirl when they have child brides in Pakistan, Or the water companies in the UK releasing raw sewage into the rivers and sea when people living in the shanty towns of Asia have their toilets directly over the river.

 

A massively sad **** thing to do, but despite the public outroar, if the kid they arrested turns out to be the one that that did it, what's the most they can legally do to him? Technically he's just chopped down a tree, so a fine and a short sentence seems most likely. Naming and shaming him will do the most damage.
