The scarf made Spanish TV news this morning. On any other occasion, I'd have been happy, but knowing the reasons it was on the box just made it heart wrenching.
I hope the club stage something for Keith on the Saturday v Southend. With proper organisation we could get a 20,000 crowd in tribute Tuesday night 10,000 tops
£580,000 now raised for PC Palmer's family on the Just Giving donation site. I say keep going until they reach £1m
Well done to Charlton for their tribute to Keith Palmer next Tuesday night. 50% of ticket sales going to his family plus the player's appearance money.
Some more fitting tributes from the club. Pc Palmers chair will be changed to white with his warrant number sprayed on for the remainder of the season before a permanent tribute to be placed near Sam Bartram statue.
Forget them. All about PC Palmer and his family I'm going to get a seat in the east for this. Any others be around?
Well I'll be around for a beer prior if anyone would like a meet. Ill have the missus in tow though - i do warn you.
What stand will you be in? I'll be coming frkm the office so won't be there until 6:30ish. If you're in the east could meet there - otherwise would the oak be more appropriate? Open to suggestions to be fair - i want to avoid the normal crowd as that's a one way ticket to trouble Would be good if we did something though - especially as i dont know the next time I'll be at the Valley.
I know I've only just joined here (and I've posted messages on similar threads on other forums) but this can't be said too many times. We can never thank you enough PC Palmer for sacrificing everything to keep us all safe. You and your colleagues are the bravest of the brave. You and your loved ones will never be forgotten by your extended family of fellow supporters at Charlton Athletic. I wasn't going to go to the midweek MK Dons game originally because I live and work right across London these days and I would never have made it in time. But my bosses have let me leave early that afternoon, and I'll be there. I'm not a pub person much nowadays, I pop in and see my folks who still live in SE7, before going on to the Valley. It will be an emotional night.
Usually NW but could be anywhere. On holiday at the moment, get back Saturday, book the ticket Sunday.
For those who could not be there last night, the club carried off the tribute to Keith Palmer with a modicum of class. Keith's brother John led the players out wearing a Charlton shirt, and 22 police officers joined the teams in the middle for a minutes silence. Although the size of the attendance on the night was poor IMO, there were plenty of Keith songs & spontaneous standing up and applause in the first half at least.
