Whole heartily agree one of the all time greatsA true "Hard Man" of the football world who will be truly missed. He made that Spurs double team a joy to watch.
I was there that day too Tramore.Remember him from the Cup tie against Derby in 1970 when he deflected the ball into the net to give us a 1-0 win. Rodney was kicked from pillar to post by him that day, all perfectly legal off course......
That's a great picture with Bremner.....
A good old fashioned no nonsense player.......
RIP
Me too. It was a toe poke from Barry Bridges that Dave deflected past the keeper. Everyone went mad. Big Dave just kept walking with chest puffed out, picked the ball out of the net and walked back upfield. A proper player.I was there that day too Tramore.
Rest in peace Dave
nice pitchHere we go lads with proper Mr Chumley - Warner commentary

This is brilliant tramore! It says that it came off Frank Clarke , but I am sure it was Bridges - the celebration is bridges. What number is Clarke ? I will have to go back to my old programmes. I was right about big Dave though - picked the ball out of the net and got on with it.Here we go lads with proper Mr Chumley - Warner commentary
