Watching West Ham v Man City today, an impressive 2-1 Hammers victory, a much less gifted, though younger CB, James Collins (31) worked his socks off, never gave up on anything and was never passive in his approach to the game. From one free kick on goal he took the full force of the ball in his chest, that winded him, he went down on his haunches, but was soon right back up in action again - I imagine Rio would either have got out of the way, or been left a crumpled heap on the ground.
