He is an utterly dire commentator, and from his commentary and his interactions with co-commentstors alone, it's obvious that he's an extremely rude man.

He was given the lead commentary role, in what at the time, was regarded as one of the most important events in he history of british sport, and he delivered the single worst piece of commentary i have ever heard on a british broadcast.

How he has kept his job until now, is one of the biggest mysteries there is, not just on television related issues, but in the universe.

That is EXACTLY what im like when I hear him commentate.

 

I might be wrong, but I think this is a quote of his actual commentary at the finish of that gold medal race :

"IT'S IT'S IT'S

TIME"


What the **** ??? For a start, did they ****ing win, or not ????

 

Garry, here's what we want you to do, ok....

Start talking about something.

After a bit, let the other co-commentator say something.

When he's half way through his story, interrupt him, pretending that the most important thing in the history of rowing, is happening right this second.

Then, when youve shut the other guy up, just talk for a bit about anything you can think of.

Then - and here's the important bit - just before the end of the race, interrupt yourself, and start shouting random words, over and over again.

As the winner approaches the line, shout out a famous phrase, or a group of words that you like, as loud as you possibly can.

Without telling the viewers who'se won the race, pretend to cry a bit, then pass back to the studio.
