Apparently Riise senior is having his medical today so fingers crossed that it goes well. One thing which strikes me is that we've been going on for weeks about how we need Fullbacks and how Jol has only been linked with attacking players but who does his first signing turn out to be.....?
Only been linked with attacking players?! You mean the 2 or 3 amongst the sea of goalkeepers?! Seems Big Maarty does indeed know what we need. Lets hope this is the first signing of a few.
I don't know how I forgot about the goalkeepers! I think I was hoping I'd dreamed all that so had blanked it out. Anyway, yes, the point I was making is that MJ does indeed seem to have the right ideas about the team
Oh well... how wrong can you be! I really thought this one was another non-story. I'm a bit surprised, since Jol said in his first press conference that the squad was a bit old, and he's looking to bring in younger players. That said, we need a LB, and at 30 he'll have at least 2-3 years left in him. Can't say I'm turning cartwheels, but I'm sure he'll do a job and having him here might bring the best out of little brother. And while he may not be the player he was at Liverpool, he's got to be better than the 30 year old LB we signed a year ago.
