I am starting to think that Ben Arfa would be wasted in the winger role. If Jonas keeps this up, I'd like to see Arfa in the AM role with a lone striker up-front. At least try it once, and if it works, then keep it up until the end of the season. We can decide what to do then.

However, I don't have too much faith in 4-4-1-1 as a long-term solution. I haven't seen Arfa play yet, but it just doesn't seem offensive enough to start banging the goals in good and proper.

:emoticon-0104-surpr He will be arguably our most offensive player! Will not give anything like what Jonas does tracking back, but so much more going forward.

Perhaps he will, but we aren't a one-man team and, despite Ben Arfa playing an attacking midfield role, we will only have one striker up-front who will probably get swamped.

Now, two strikers AND Ben Arfa in the AM position. That sounds like a much more powerful offensive force.

    -------------Harps
    Simmo -- Tayls - Colo -- Enrique
    ------------ Tiote
    --- Barton --------- Jonas
    -----------Ben Arfa
    -------- Best ---- Shola

    Or

    -------------Harps
    Simmo --- Tayls - Colo --- Enrique
    ------------ Tiote
Ben Arfa - Barton - Nolan - Jonas
    ------------ Best/Shola (depending on Best's form*)

I like both, second on maybe a little more. Allows Ben Arfa or Nolan to push on and Tiote can just step forward and fill the gap (with Barton moving out to the right to cover there).

Actually, i ****ing love that second line up!!!

*If Best carries on like he is it will be difficult to drop him.

I am just putting it out there, we are a much worse team without Nolan.

It's true, he may not seem to have the highest work rate but he battles hard and scores a priceless amount of goals for us

I think we'd miss Nolan's leadership. God knows what would happen to us if Nolan, Tiote and Barton were all out for whatever reason. We'd get hammered

I agree, but i think if it's a choice between him and Bartoon... Hard one, but i'd have to choose Bartoon.

Jonas definately top performer, but Tiote wasn't far off, another class display!<ok> As for Nolan, very good at being in the right place at the right time, can't see anyone in the current squad replacing him this season atleast.
