So we lost at Man City, but showed plenty of fight, and a few weaknesses. Man city were a bit down on firepower in defence, but still managed to nullify most of our attacking play. Torres looked very good , as he has done often, BUT.....
he does get shouldered, pushed, muscled off the ball a hell of a lot, and Man City mostly had 2 on him. Personally, I don't like him as a sole striker, unless the midfield feed him killer balls and put him into space. This isn't really happening.
Drogba is more robust and very few push him around, but his first touch and control are, well........... dodgy.
So either way, a lone striker is not exactly tearing good teams apart.
Much as it hurts to admit it, I think Spurs are a good team, and we will need to be on top form to win.
So, who and how do we play ???

Here's my 2 bobs worth.
Cech
Brana Luiz Cahill Bertrand
Mikel
Ramires Mata Malouda

Sturridge Torres

Bench Terry, Cole, Lampard Drogba GK. ( would include youngsters, but it's a waste of time, they never play )

Strong back four, with some good young attacking legs.
Midfield with our most likely playmaker in the centre, and a sweeping mid defender
Front two with pace and attacking instincts.
Bench with very experienced players, rested from too many consecutive games.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why no Team is knocking my door down to be their manager.

Over to you.

I want JT back in asap! I think with him fit last night he would have been the inspiration we needed to win!
Loved RDM's confident assessment of a top 4 place--and that has to start with 3 points against the Spuds!! COYB!!!!

Think we can be confident against Spuds. We were not too shabby against Man City, just lacked that one really classy playmaker.

leaving out all the big guns led to AVB being sacked, can't see RDM doing the same.

If fit Terry must play as should Cole. Lampard and Drogba a little more open to debate.

the most worrying thing to me is how absolutely crap we are on the break, all we do is give the ball straight back

That's cos Lamps can't do what he used to when he had Ballack, Deco, Makelele or pre injured Essien to play his one-two's with, plus he's struggling to keep up himself. The only thing that'll save our season is team spirit & fight cos our passing is dreadful.
