You can see it coming that they appoint the dude.

Bring him in during the summer and hope that he has a good start to the season.

If he does go British I wonder what the odds on Steve Evans will be?

Similarly I'd ached Evans is free to play again this summer what would be the odds of us going for him?

Has everyone seen the Tweets from ex Newcastle manager John Carver ? Including screenshots of an exchange he had with a Charlton fan.

Confirmation that Carver, Warnock <whistle> and Paul Ince applied for the Charlton job when Karel was bolted....only to be told by Meire that none of them was capable of improving our ranking.

The next coach will be the Irish fella currently at St Truiden, Chris O'Loughlin I think???

RD network appointment who is British. The management team will think that this appointment is what the fans want! Doesn't matter that he has never managed in England from what I understand!

I think it'll be him also. More worryingly - they probably think we'll be happy as his first language is English.

Clarke is being mentioned in a few corners. But he and elfs had an argument about a certain Ralph Lauren coat - so not sure how well that will go down.

Are we on about their 2016 collection or earlier?

Just curious. If it's the same as mine, I'm going out and buying a new one...

Whatever it was Holden, it looked like it had been lifted off the corpse of a homeless man.

I believe it was '14. A vintage year for coats, I'm sure you'll agree.

2014. What a good year... Had a Massimo Dutti, a cute blonde and a rather tasty bottle of Whistle Pig Rye.

Simon Clark is a non entity and so is this Chris Loughlin character. Why has the latter had to go off to the 23rd best league in Europe to ply his trade? I am SICK of the constant downgrading of expectations at Charlton - we should be looking at the likes of Mick McCarthy and David Jones - proven managers who have demonstrated that they can build a Club up from the rubble. Instead all we get is a succession of nobodies who were half competent at clearing up the dog sh1t at Sparrows Lane. I don't give a flying f*ck if the players rate Simon Clark - who are they to talk? 80% of them will be gone this summer.

You put it better than I ever could there @Royston Vasey. I keep saying we actually need a strong manager, someone with a backbone.

Someone who's going to shout and not let these players off lightly when they are not good enough.

Yes, but he was sticking up for Carol, which gives him several brownie points.

I mentioned Steve Evans name because:

    1) He's British
    2) He's had recent successes
    3) He's not very nice/has a stigma
    4) He's shown he's happy to work for money with a dodgy/totalitarian owner
    5) He'll be available

There's potentially enough in pints 1 and 2 for Duchatelet to think someone like him may appease fans and be just what we want, whilst a tthsame time enough in points 3, 4 and 5 for Duchatelet to be happy with his appointment.

So genuinley intrigued to know what the odds would be...

Spot on Royston. Expectations rooted firmly in the drain. There are managers out there who can rescue basket case clubs like ours. The problem is they expect to be paid the going rate, and to be given free reign to sign what they need, not what the owner can't sell or give away. Doesn't really fit into the new Charlton philosophy.

Fidel Everitt says that Duchatelet met Lennie Lawrence during his last visit to discuss the Director of Football role, but that RD "lost interest" half way through the meeting <laugh> That was probably at around the same time that Lennie mentioned he didn't know where St Truiden or FC Hamme were.

Lets face it, no British manager worth his salt will touch us without cast iron, written guarantees from the Belgian Twats which would result in massive compensation if breached. For example:

"If Roland-Huh forces Mick McCarthy to pick Anil Koc ahead of Chris Solly, he must pay him £50,000"

I can't see it, can you?

The reverse side of the coin is that Roland wouldn't touch a decent British manager . without cast iron guarantees that he would do as Roland told him to. Riga's amusing quip that he wouldn't be told what to do will have been passed on to Roland by his CEO, and there must be no more rebellious thoughts in the camp.
