To be fair, that was the first big transfer bubble, there was then a bit of a lull (apart from Chelsea) in the middle of the decade, but ironically, since the recession its gone into overdrive again. Partly its Man City, but its not all about that.
Agree lambden - ridiculous prices for players yet to really establish themselves - could be seen as a risk or they could turn into 25m players. As others have said can only help the saints coffers if we continue producing exciting useful players who one day move on. Just want to correct you on one thing 'Sunderland must be laughing all the way to the bank' ---- yes until they find out they are spending some of that money on wes brown. lol
