I didn't know that Rickie was originally a midfielder, did you..? I presume it was because of his lack of outright pace. But he reads the game so well, like Teddy Sherringham used to, that he seems to be able to do without it. I mean, there he is scoring a hat-trick against Forest, while against Barnsley, he's making goal-line clearances. But it does explain one thing - his positional sense, and his eye for a pass. No wonder he gets so many assists too. He's a class midfielder and striker in one. You won't need reminding that he cost Saints over £1M. What an absolute bargain..!

Does anybody know what Matty thinks of Rickie and the current team..?
