I think putting Lambert in the same category as previous mercenaries we have signed is a little harsh. Lambert, like Austin, worked his way up through the leagues. He has only been at one big club and it didn't work out for him. I don't think he's ever been the sort to seek out a huge pay day and has always seemed a loyal type.

I would have thought, after the year he has had, he'd be happy to be playing regular football again.

Spot on imo

I'd take him. Great from/and at taking set pieces. But the wages need to be right. Possibly incentivize him with a bonus if we get promoted to make up for the shortfall in wages in moving from LOLapool?

After a year of playing next to no football, I would expect his wages would be quite high, can see his career tailing off Grant Holt style (although Ricky can actually play football, unlike that lump of ****e Holt)

Can't see this signing having any legs unless Austin goes the other way.

However, he would do a serious job for us for 2 seasons. Strong CF who could easily bag 15 plus in the Championship.

NO NO NO NO NO ! 33 yrs old. Same pattern as before. Supposed to be laying foundations for the long term future. Buy younger, mould them into hungry QPR dogs.
