Don't know much about Holt, but hope we never part with Lambert.

Rickie Lambert- 524 games, 191 goals. 0.364 goals per game.
    (At Southampton 0.539 gpg)

Grant Holt- 384 games, 160 goals. 0.417 goals per game.
    (At Norwich 0.544 gpg)

From wikipedia- missing out GH's cup goals so I know it's not perfect, but overall shows GH has a better record and that's not taking into account that Grant Holt is in the higher division

Guys, please can we not start an argument for once?

Norwich are just about the only PL club that I don't have a reason to dislike, and Grant Holt is an exceptional player, as is Rickie.
What Paul Lambert has done is amazing! Good luck for the rest of the season Canaries

There's nothing wrong with Rickie Lambert aspiring to be like Grant Holt. Holt has helped his team to get into the PL and he plays regularly, if only from the bench sometimes.

I like Norwich and wish them the best of luck for the rest of the season.

Over the years the fate of the two clubs seems to have been intertwined. I've got to know a fair few Canaries fans and always enjoyed talking football with them. The headline of this post is as misleading as The Sun, but no-one could disagree with Rickie's comments. Here's hoping that Rickie can take us to the Premier League, and that Norwich are waiting for us when we get there.

I think they did rather well during the time those two were playing together, but they were both relatively late developers and not the players they both have been for a few seasons.

I agree. If Rickie can continue his goal scoring for us we will see whether he can indeed do it in the Premiership. For him to look at the likes of Holt and hope that he can match his success is in my book a sensible thing to say.

so many of our players and swansea's can be looked at as role models for players in the football league. they all prove that with hard work and good coaching the premier league is reachable <ok>

I rate Lambert (both of them to be fair) and I do think Southampton are a good team. Lambert is effectively Southamptons Holt and vice-versa so the comparisons are very fair.

There is a bit of me that wouldn't want to see you get promoted simply because we got double promoted but thats incredibly selfish! You'd be a great addition to the Premier League.

Hopefully we'll get to play you soon.

<laugh> Nice one Superman. We like to think that Grant Holt is Norwich's Lambert. Holt has shut all the critics up who said he'd never perform at the highest level, and Sir Rickie of Lambertshire will be the next one to do the same.
