Supported saints my whole life (only 18 years but still) but only really payed attention when we were in the championship, there were not many players who really stood out back then, saganowski and john i remember well, but in my saints life we have never had any one as talismanic as sir Lambert, so for that he will always be my favorite player, with players like Morgan and Adam trailing behind. But without Lambert we would not be in the prem, so hopefully when we look back when we are challenging for Europe we will look back on the fat lad from Bristol Rovers who took us there! Here is to a few more seasons with him in the number 7 shirt!

POSTED IN THE WRONG THREAD SORRY!

Just finished watching. We've had some miserable seasons and some mediocre, but I had a lump in my throat at the end, it was so wonderful seeing all the great times associated with those Lambert goals. Here's to his next batch. <cheers>

'The Premier League's Top Ten Creators
but you might be shocked at who's at no 3)...'

Unfortunately its widely regarded that Lambert is just a big traditional centre forward. If you actually watch a Southampton game or two it's blatantly obvious that he has far more strings to his bow then that! Glad this article shows he is more than just a stick-it-in-the-back-of-the-net striker, but I doubt it will become common knowledge to the wider footballing world any time soon.

I'm not surprised by that, but that's because I watch Lambert on a regular basis. Other fans may be shocked but this further justifies that he deserves an England call up.

It's only a surprise to those who are ignorant of his ability and game.

    Thanks for the link Dan.

Nope, didn't surprise me either. As RSS says above, Lambert is mistaken for a traditional Centre Forward, when he simply isn't. The way pundits say he's like bloody Grant Holt kills me. His game is way more technical than Holt's, who is closest thing to the bustling CF of old. Yes, Rickie can do the target man job, but he can do so many other things as well. He's possibly vying for being the best all-round player Saints have.

It wouldn't surprise me if it turned out he was a half decent keeper..! :)
