I think that sending King out on loan could be very informative if the right club can be found i.e. one that will give him first team time and look after him and help him in his ongoing recovery. Unfortunately at the moment I really don't think he's a real competitor for a starting place. I'd love to see him fully match fit again, but that isn't going to happen at Gills in the near future, and it could be a disaster to bring him in when he's been off the pace for so long. Perhaps a Blue Square club could do the right job for a few months, and then Gills can take further view and perhaps loan him to a L2 or even L1 club later in the season if he's still surplus to their immediate requirements. I do think he deserves as beneficial treatment as the club can manage without leaving themselves too exposed to potential shortages in central defence.
