Chatting to someone at Goodwood today, he said the Sussex Stakes reminded him of the Ascot "duel" between Dubai Millennium and Sendawar.
He was at Ascot that day and said you could see the moment that Sendawar threw the towel in. Jerry Bailey asked DM to quicken and Sendawar just said "no way!".
He said he though yesterday's race broke CC'd heart. It remains to be seen if he can come back from it.

i remember that race like it was yesterday.sendawar raced once more back over his 1 mile trip and lost odds on and then never raced again.
an experienced timer on twitter as frankel down from 4f to finish at 11.16,10.13,11.46,12.03 (eased) (11.2 average) his first 4f was a rather slow 13.2 secs per furlong average.so he actually quickened 4f out,and because canford was the same amount lengths of him,he also quickened.in trying to keep up with frankels top speed early on ,canford eventually started to lose ground around 1 1/2 f from home.frankel wasnt going any faster,but canford just couldnt go on at that pace anymore and as a result,i believe thats whats cause him to hang ,tiredness.
sendawar was around 3 - 4l of DM in the P.O.W. when DM started to quicken 4f out.sendawar followed and then the gap between him and 3rd increased .sendawar was still 4l of him to just over 2f out ,but just couldnt go on any more which as a result in trying to keep up with DM ,he lost a further 7l inside the final 2f and eventually came 4th.
horse like fankel and dubai millennium just destroy horses ,they quicken way too early and as a result force other horses to go too early to just to keep with them and they just bascially grind to halt because of it.

I was thinking after the Sussex that if I had to compare Frankel to any horse from the past it would be Dubai Millenium, like Frankel he had a massive engine giving him a high cruising speed and a great turn of foot, he could be ridden from the front or the back, he was a beast of a race horse.
Dubai Millenium was one of the finest race horses I can remember, and the frightening thing is I reckon Frankel could be better. It would have been great to see them face off, with there similar styles. Dubai Millenium would probably be the only horse capable of giving Frankel a lead

Shergar I'm glad to see you've jumped aboard the Frankel bandwagon like the rest of us but it has taken you longer than most! I may have wanted / hoped CC would win but was never confident, I simply couldn't support both and simply stayed faithful to CC.
Weren't you the man before the Guineas stating what a bad price Frankel is and tipping Roderic O'Connor and Pathfork against him? Didn't you also suggest a bet on Frankel not to win a race this year? Didn't you mock the reports about his Bullet Train work and running quicker than the train in his work before the Guineas? Those predictions of yours seem a little 'wayward' now old boy

Beef....I wasn't prepared to take 1/2 about a horse in the Guineas, against a group of unraced 3yos, many top judges were against him at that price, including pricewise. had he been Evens I would have backed him, like I said, but not at 1/2. I had 5000 on him at 4/5 on Saturday, as I believed that was a value call as he had proved his ability at 3 already.
I stated 10/1 was value that he wouldn't win a race, even the great Arazi never won a race at 3, it was a value call nothing more.

Another racing fact according to King Shergar.
Clearly when the 1991 Breeders' Cup Juvenile winner won the 1992 Prix du Rond Point and Prix Omnium, he was not a three-year-old. If he was two in 1991, what age was he in 1992?

I saw it but I thought he said he didn't know what was wrong with her before he complimented Misty for Me. I think there was an insinuation that something was wrong with her but I could be mistaken. Didn't record it so I can't re-listen.
KS, you did not state that it was your (incorrrect) opinion. I did read the piece in the Racing Post where Cecil could not explain why Midday ran so poorly against Misty For Me, but having backed Midday in the Nassau I guess that makes me biased. I am sure that if you had Googled Arazi you would have found that he won his Kentucky Derby prep-race and that he won later in the season, so clearly basic internet research is beyond you.
Ron....well he said he wasn't sure what was wrong at the Curragh, and then went on to say the winner was a very good fillie, he could have made up some bull**** about her not being the same beforehand at home, but he didn't, he offered praise to the winner.

KS, I did not need to Google anything I was merely suggesting that you might like to try since your recollection of factual things does not seem to be too accurate.

Put these great horses down against each other week after week, and Frankel will win most of the time. He's a better horse than Canford Cliffs.
Going back to Richard Hannon it has to be said that he rather let himself down with his post race comments and he should hang his head in shame for failing to acknowledge that Canford Cliffs was simply beaten by a better horse. A wise old sage once said to me ‘you tell a gentleman from the way that he handles himself in defeat, not victory’ and on that score Mr Hannon you have let the county down.
Those bastions of our sport Mr Henderson and Sir Henry are, of course, the most gracious in defeat and they are followed closely by the likes of Aiden O’Brien, Mr Nicholls, dear old Pip Hobbs, Richard Johnson and old boy Gosden.

Agree with most of what you say SBS. But I'm not sure AOB and Paul Nicholls are great losers. I remember Mr Nicholls whinging when one of his was carried out in the Gold Cup saying the other horse should not have been in the race. It was a ludicrous thing to say - although I would have to admit it was a few years ago and he might not say it these days.
I've already been told off by the Coolmore mafia for daring to have a go at AOB but I suppose part of his job is to try to uphold the stud value of horses and he therefore feels he has to make excuses when they lose.
I also detest Hills but I actually quite like Martin Pipe. He has a good feel for the history of the game and always remembers people who have done him a good turn.

AOB was a sore loser at Ascot no doubt about it. Paul Nicholls made quite alot of excuses for Kauto Star when he was beaten at times in his career, so I wouldn't exactly say he is the best loser either.
Fulkes....Im sure that was See More Buisness who was carried out in the Gold Cup, I can sympathise with Nicholls there, if you had trained your best horse all year for the biggest race in jumps racing, and he went there as probably the best horse In the race, then you would be pretty upset if he was carried out through no fault of his own. Particularly If it was a horse who had next to no chance of actually winning the race

Shergar - I think the horse was one of Pipe's which had been carrying an injury. Hence Nicholls said it should not have been in the race. But I still think he should have accepted it as a racing incident - he was just unlucky.
Coolmore are major stakeholders in Canford Cliffs ergo did not send a Ballydoyle based contender.
