Bowled better today to get them all out for 226 - stronger batting line up than bowling so should be able to knock those runs off and level the series.

edit: We're now 8-2 <laugh> May have jinxed us..

I reckon the scheduling of this nonsense is rubbish. We're not too good at this format, stick it at the start of the series.

Instead all our ashes winning momentum is gone and almost forgotten while their tails will be up going into their home series.

Oh and, Joe Root <cough>. <doh>

No... if we stick it at the front of the tour then we lose the games there, and no have confidence going into the Test matches at home. At least this way we can win the tests, then doesn't matter too much if we lose these games.

But the truth is most of OUR test side don't play one day. It's more giving them some confidence than us losing momentum really.

We won this one anyway so no drama. (cober!)

For the love of God, make this ODI **** stop!

Be good to see the back of it all eh?

I believe us winning the ashes should have been the full stop to the whole Aussie tour.

On the plus side, the Aussies now play 7 ODI's in India, which is naturally ideal preperation for round 2 of the Ashes!

Not anti-ODI just like the purer form of the game.
They can prepair for the Ashes anyway they like, however, more ODI's the better I say <ok>
We need to do what we did last time, get there a good month in advance, spend a few days acclimatising and then play 3 4 dayer's against some of their top Shield teams before the first test in Brisbane, 2 of these 3 games to be played by the team that is likely to start at Gabba, none of this give everyone a go ****!
It's gonna be tough to retain/win the Ashes down under, we need to start fast and get the momentum from the off!

Absolutely. It was proven to be the right approach and to back it up the 2005 ashes winners didn't do that and when they went down there to defend them got murdered.

We're getting hammered in the ODI if anyone is interested <whistle>

Not in the slightest, don't like losing but given the choice of an Ashes win or a worthless win in a worthless ODI series, give me the Ashes!
Good to see they are getting out there a full month in advance and will indeed play 3 warm-up games, good <ok>

Love the Ashes down-under, due to my long term insomnia, I stay up and watch at least 2 out of the 3 sessions...
