The fact that the No10 outscored and lasted longer than 8 of the 9 that went in before him rather sums up England as a batting unit.
I put this impending defeat more on the selectors than the players.
I'm reluctant to criticise Jacks because he's just not a front line spinner. The fact that he's bowled the most overs sums up the ridiculous decision making from the selectors.

Just ended up lobbing long-hop pies to a legside field. I truly could have gone down to our local cricket club here in York in June and seen better slow-bowling. But as you say, not his fault. That said - I ****ing stayed up till 5am in bed watching this ****e. More fool me.
i expected nothing less and before the tour started i was amazed by the optimism .The batsmen show little to no discipline / judgement and the bowlers with the exception of Archer are not capable of hitting the right spot over and over again .
Not sure the Aussies can even make fun of this series, it's just pathetic and sad.

It's actually not been a bad effort by England this test match. Had we selected a proper spinner we might have won this one.

Put up a bit of fight in 4th innings but was never going to be enough. Shame couldn’t at least make 4th and 5th test have something riding on it
