First time I’ve watched any of it, no need to get up tomorrow so was going to stay up and watch for few hours. Might not even get that by looks of it

Lyon with 400 wickets. That’s some achievement to be fair given he never really gets spoken about when it comes to great bowlers or spinners.
Didn’t he have an absolute stinker of an ashes 10 years ago or so and since then his reputation over here has taken bit of a hit but can’t argue with those numbers.

Hardly unexpected but frankly quite annoying.
As I said prior to test one single test batsman and when he is going the rest fold.
I said what 5 names and said we need 200 runs an innings there and wont get it. My.god they hardly contributed any at all.

Went to bed after stokes wicket. Looks like we didn’t put up much of a fight after that.
Made some points when was watching that Australian put on 180 for their last 4 wickets. Ours put on about 30 in l first innings and second innings. I know the top order need to set the tone, but if we got theirs out for 30 would have only been a lead of about 140 which would have given us a chance at least

We are not test standard with the bat.
Pope. First ball. Zero thought of the situation tries to cut at Lyons. First ball lose the serious wickets.
Edge after edge is people.playing at stuff. It's just a consistent inability to have the mindset to play test cricket.

Can’t remember who it was talking but they said English players in that team
majority of them want to fee bat on ball, Hameed the exception. Where as Australians grow up learning to leave the ball early especislly in Australia with the new ball and extra pace and bounce etc.
Yeah. Pushers and prodders.
The others we have dropped are as bad.
This form.of the game is much harder than stand and slash at balls the rules force down the slot. I tuned in yesterday for last half hour and watched malan and root have ball after ball just pass the bat or even seeing swings and misses.
It seems Australia have an issue with the old ball but england have an issue lasting long enough to see an old ball to score from.
