bit soon to call this as an advantage.

i'm seeing some comments about dryness of pitch and some evidence already of visible foot marks.

If this is the case then batting first was the correct call by NZ but they need to capitalise. the sun was out and it looks relatively flat etc

put on 100 runs and 170 for 3 looks "alright" but take another 2 wickets and 100/5 doesn't look clever at all.

It'll be interesting anyway.

I see england have absolutely ****ed up by missing an obvious revew after the umpire didn't give Mitchell out. plum LBW.

England have royally screwed up there and let NZ off the hook big time.

As a question:

Buttler got a free hit this week after the ball "stuck" in the hand of the netherlands journeyman bowler and it bounced twice and buttler smacked it for 6.

Today the NZ lad got caught off his team mates bat.

So: If a guy hit a ball in the air back down the ground and his team mate rushed up and smacked it for 6 would the guy who chipped it up get 6? would it be a piece of foul play? how would this be umpired?

In that situation that'd be Interfering with Play, covered under the Unfair play laws.

As a non-striker you can't deliberately interfere with the shot played.

If the batsman hit the ball and it bounced off the non-striker (like today) and went for 6, the batsman would get the 6.

Clearly this is all.manes fault cos he's a greedy ****bag but the other 10mplayers have to take criticism.

They had nz on the ropes and failed to review and then this morning dropped catches again.

The batting is par for course.

Brilliant from JB and Overton. Not only the partnership but given where England were, but also the rate. It meant NZ had to go more defensive fields which eased the pressure a bit.

Also means we could get ahead of them before the new ball is taken and starts moving around again tomorrow so hopefully build up a decent lead by then.

Try get them out with a lead no more than 200 will give england a great chance.
