Predictions for The Ashes? It'll be a close call, I reckon. We need a good start tomorrow in Birm, weather permitting. Nothing much wrong with the bowling (on either side). Who bats best will decide it. We bat deeper - on paper <yikes>

Cant see many of the games going to 5 days. Wouldn’t surprise me if we see an average score of around 250-300. Let’s hope with archer in gives us that extra edge in the bowling.

The forecast is for rain right through August. So that's the first three drawn already.

No archer then. Gone for woakes and broad instead. Jimmy must be fit enough to play as well then. I guess home ground for woakes so makes sense.

I wouldn't have left him out. His pace would worry the convicts.

Who do you leave out? Have to include woakes at home ground and given his form. I think broad maybe saved himself with his bowling v Ireland.

Good start. 2 of the cheats out, could do with breaking this partnership. These two could easily put on 200 if they get in.

Maybe debuting on the first test of an Ashes series was considered too much to bet Archer on. I get it.

Ah, just when I was starting to get that feeling they're going to Australianise us, another of the buggers gone.

Given his side issue and it’s Woakes home ground I can see why they have left him out but don’t think could have argued either way. Shame we don’t have same strength in our batting!

3 down, get smith and they’re in real trouble
