  1. Stevie was also England's top scorer for two, possibly three international tournaments (can't remember exactly) in a row despite being shunted about <ok>

He probably saw it as something he could disagree with. I reckon he just wanted to say "No, not Steven Gerrard"

Tho on the same topic, is it true that since 2001 Liverpool have won a higher proportion of games without Gerrard in the team than with him in it?

Gerrard should retire from England right now. He will be 34 for the next world cup and imo the right thing for England to do would be to start building the team around Wilshire now. The heat in Brazil will be a factor imo Gerrard should do a Scholes or a Roy Keane and turn his back on his country, that's why that dirty ginger tosser is still playing now when hes almost 38.

  5. Not sure about the win ratio but I wouldn't be surprised if it was true. I know it was true for the season when we finished second, he was out injured a lot along with Torres <ok>

However, you could also say we wouldn't have won the trophies we have over the last ten years had Steven Gerrard not been in our team <ok>

  7. Why pre-guess what will happen? Why not wait and see? Even if Gerrard is not performing to the same level he may be able to offer something that others can't.

Think they might still have a teensy edge over us in the warmth department though, Bluff

Ah, but might you have won even more without him in the team? If you'd sold him to Chelsea in 2005 for £40 million or however much they offered you might not have won the 2006 FA Cup, but might you have had the funds to develop a more balanced team that would have won the title by now?

    Guess we'll never know...

It depends whereabout in Brazil you are, the weather varies considerably in the winter months across it's varied regions.

  19. Fair enough. There is no doubt that Gerrard retiring from England would benefit Liverpool and Gerrard's domestic career but would you want to do something that you might regret...? I wouldn't! I'd want to play for my country for a s long as I could (despite the fact I couldn't give a **** about watching them <laugh>).
