    Kiwi, with respects,

I don't hold a vendetta against Redders, I supported him at one stage till the bull started coming out and he never stopped harping on about his academy boys and favourites.

I'm not going to change my opinions or make excuses for him just because he is Redders and use to run the academy.

Before Thommo arrived Redders didn't have a clue, after Thommo left results are showing Redders still doesn't have a clue. I never mentioned I'd rather Thommo get sacked to expose Redders flaws, I was merely paying reference to Redders results before and after Thommo and mentioned it could be a blessing in disguise, in other words, some things happen for a reason.

Thommo got himself sacked, therefore he alone is responsible for the backlash, speculation and leaving Redders on his own, no one else can be held responsible.

We got results after Thommo arrived, I agree, I also agree with you we weren't playing great football but that's the situation isn't it, we were gaining some wins with lady luck on our side for a change, but not from great dominating football, but win, lose or draw, our midfield were still being left floundering by opposing teams. I don't see, based on the not so great football Thommo supposedly introduced how we can gain promotion, or at least push for a top 6 and playoff position next season.

My mind is on next season, we should be hopefully building and experimenting with other players for next season, but Redders keeps picking his regulars while shouting we need 4 or 5 new players in. Where would these new players fit in, he won't change his midfield imo, so that leaves the defence and strikers. Our back four and keeper are a solid defence, especially when playing on song, that leaves the striker position.

Bit hard when they have spat their dummies out and refuse to play, secondly although it seems Redfearn has his favourites just MAYBE the ones being left out are simply not good enough.

As for the £50k bonus Redfearn has been promised for a 12th or above finish, another idiotic decision and clause dreamt up by Cellino.

LL, you raise some good points, but my only problem is this: why is it always the managers fault, or the owner's fault that players throw their toys out the pram? Neither Redfearn nor Cellino should have to cater to the whims of overpaid prima donnas just because they're not playing regularly. You say Redfearn hasn't done anything to quell the situation - we don't know that, and even if he hasn't, is it really
Always respect you for being able to hold a civilised discussion <ok>

Personally, I don't think Redfearn's ever spouted 'bull'; at least not any more than any other manager. No manager is transparent and they all speak in outdated footballing clichés, blame the referees and deflect criticism - find me one that doesn't. It's seemingly part of the job nowadays. He does go on about the academy boys a lot but he's also said a lot of positive things about the foreigners, many of whom have flattered to deceive on the pitch.

Before Thompson came, I agree, Redfearn was struggling. He stumbled across a system that worked, but was bold enough to put his faith in it, drop the underperforming foreigners and go back to basics with the British players, and they got us out of relegation danger, with the help of Thompson. We were definitely lucky, but I couldn't see Hockaday or Darko managing to keep us up: we were beyond dire with those two. It just sounded as though you were glad Thompson was sacked just so Redfearn would be exposed, even though the two together had saved us. Like Redfearn or not, he has kept a squad of players that would struggle to get out of League One in the Championship.

The whole Thompson affair sounds very much like 'he said she said' and a bit childish. If you insult your superior you should expect to get sacked though, I guess. Does seem like a way to undermine Redders to me, but perhaps that was just a by-product.

The results were the ONLY thing that mattered at the time - we were 21st and in serious, serious danger of going down. Cellino was, for all his flaws, wise enough to see that and let Redfearn get on with it without sacking him for the initial poor run when we persisted with the diamond. The football was not particularly pretty or exciting, but teams in a relegation dogfight rarely play free-flowing attacking football, and if you were expecting that in the circumstances that was very naive of you.

I don't necessarily back Redfearn for this, but he must know there's no way he's getting a contract extension and if (it would take a miracle now) he finishes 12th he's rumoured to get this £50k bonus. Why would you risk playing anything less than your strongest squad when you need to win the majority of your remaining games to get that bonus? We're all human, if we knew we weren't being kept on I daresay we'd all do the same thing. I commend any of you who would rather walk away or try out untested players instead, but I don't blame him for aiming for the bonus when the club have undermined him and made it abundantly clear, albeit tacitly, that he's not being kept on.

As for next season, forget promotion. We'll do what we always do - sell the best/most promising players, replace them with a bunch of second rate loans and hire another manager who will get a year at best to miraculously deliver us promotion with a substandard team amid a backdrop of off the field uncertainty. The club is a joke.

    Kiwi,

unfortunately, or fortunately, which ever way people look at it, it's the coach / managers responsibility to keep calm in the dressing room and keep the players united, that's the way the system is in british football, he accepts the plaudits, but also accepts responsibility when things aren't going right.

Well mathematically impossible for us to finish 12th so Cellino needs to decide on Redfearn's future pretty swiftly, back into Academy as agreed or more likely leave and join another club?

I accept that, but most managers have the opportunity to get rid of any bad apples in their bunch they can't handle, whether that be by incompetence of the manager or unruly behaviour of the player - Ravel Morrison is the most recent example that springs to mind, both at Man Utd and West Ham, and Ferguson had a reputation for throwing out any player who questioned his authority. You can argue that Redfearn doesn't have that in him, but the fact of the matter is even if he wanted to get rid of any player undermining him, he has no control over transfer dealings! And the same will happen for the next manager - he can't keep every player in the squad happy because it's not his squad. The coach has no say over the players who come in or go out, so if he ends up with a bunch of poor characters, a dressing room revolt is always on the horizon. Cellino should've done his homework on the players prior to signing, there's clearly some bad attitudes among the players, and I'm not excluding the British players from that - Morison, Warnock and Sharp all spring to mind. I don't care how talented a footballer is, if they don't want to play for Leeds or they're going to throw a hissy fit because them or their mate isn't getting a game, get rid.

I think the only player who hasn't complained at one thing or another this season is Stuart Taylor - clearly something is very wrong somewhere.

Get him out of the club and then he can't ever con his way back in via a couple of fluke wins as caretaker at any time in future.

Spot on kiwi - How is a coach able to gain respect from a player when he never signed them, probably never wanted them, cannot threaten to place them on the transfer list and when the player plays for Cellino at the end of the day...

Cellino DOES NOT want a manager, he wants a coach, Redfearn isn't up to the task agreed but if you want a manager who can do a managers job Cellino will have to change his style and dip deeper into those pockets.

If Darko or Hockaday had managed to make a success of things and Redfearn and the academy were churning out Cook, Taylor and co you would have been spitting nails had Redfearn been sacked, yes out of his depth but getting a bit too much of the blame IMHO

I don't give a rats @rse whether Redfearn and Thommo are good enough or whether people think they are (when allowed to work together they did pretty well, but let that one go........)

What I care about is we are (in reality) owned by someone who I am not prepared to put in writing what I think about them, and we have players who have allegedly/apparently refused to play for Leeds United........ lets repeat that, in case you missed it: ...............

allegedly/apparently...... they.... have.... refused.... to .... play .... for .... Leeds .... United

One or two of the potential list might have valid excuses - possibly, but just think what those words means:

allegedly/apparently...... they.... have.... refused.... to .... play .... for .... Leeds .... United

And now, what will the ownership of the club do about that?...... eh? ...... EH? ................... I have a shrewd idea and its two words, the second being "all"

This is the only thing I am focused on, debating if the coach and his suspended (sacked?) assistant are the best we could have? ................... Get a job deckchair moving on the Titanic, please

Thing is 2020, we have no facts yet, it all seems to be speculation at moment.

Players revolting because they didn't get picked? 3 of the 6 were picked regularly, Del Fabro was never picked, Duke was in and out once in a blue moon, and Cani was never picked.

So, the 3 who are picked regularly may well have been injured or carrying knocks, both Anti and Silvestri tweeted their injuries. So what's the big deal, just another reason to point a hate filled finger at Cellino when there's no reason to.

If, and I say if there's a bit of revolt going on, then there has to be a reason, they're not going to revolt for the sake of revolting.

We lost because we weren't good enough and Sharp missed a penalty. Redfearn is responsible for the players, dressing room and results, no one else.

Both Thom Kerwin and the fans at the game jumped the gun a bit when they said "who needs the Italians".

We had the same situation as we did with BM, it'll eventually settle the same way.

I see you typed the word 'allegedly' but it doesn't sound like you mean it. Have you checked your facts before persisting with this story? Clearly not. So what are you trying to achieve by pushing club-damaging rumour? Some supporter.

I've checked it out. I've heard Redders say on radio that the Physio told him that they were not fit. The Physio. Not a bunch of rebels, or whatever. OUR Physio. Leeds United's official Physio. Geddit?

    Story dead.

i respect others opinions but I am getting a bit fed up with the Redfearn is responsible for dressing room routine. Normal managers are,we however have a coach. He gets no say in who we sign, players are forced upon him, we are not privy to what these players are told when Cellino signs them, it really does not matter who coaches the team, the set up we have doesn't work.

Seems to work in a lot of places. Why not us? Appointment of numpties as coaches, perhaps?

Maybe because the owner doesn't interfere when ever possible, maybe because other owners respect the coaches they appoint and maybe because they don't undermine them. Maybe they listen to the coaches needs when signing a player and maybe they don't sign second rate players who are simply not good enough.

    Ristac, with respects,

Many are saying Cellino signed second rate players that aren't good enough, which ones aren't good enough?

Cani I'll agree with, although he hasn't had a decent run to prove himself.

Cellinos signings were well liked when we had the 3 wins and draw under Redders temp role, and against Blackpool and Derby.

Some of the Cellino signings have never been given a proper chance by Redders because he continually picks his academy boys and favourites.

Some players who were playing well were dropped by Redders to make way for his academy boys and favourites.

Redders imo creates his own problems and backlash, and he's doing a good job of sucking a lot of fans in too.

Did Cellinos signings get ample opportunities in first half of season. I seem to remember us on many occasions with seven or eight new faces on the pitch and the results and performances were pathetic. Maybe I'm raving or my memory is going

I seem to remember the same thing, there was a time this season when we were just above the relegation spot, many myself included felt relegation was a genuine possibility. Redfearn and the lads went on a small purple patch and pulled us clear.

Cellino was the idiot who offered Redfearn a £50k bonus if he managed 12th so is it any wonder he went for it with his trusted favourites? We hear Redfearn was offered £50k bonus, we hear Antenucci has a bonus clause and I believe 100% that all the loans will return so why should they play?

Stand up to Cellino I hear, isn't that what Redfearn has done leaving out the majority of the dross Cellino has signed and daring to go against the diamond?

    Bookmark this.

Next coach will have no pedigree, Redfearn won't step back into academy role, probably get through another 3 coaches next season, loans will return, new coach will play the diamond, new loans will come in who we have to Wiki, we will sell at least two academy lads and replace them with Serie B players. We have NO future under Cellino, let us all hope he sells up
