When you see The OX as a youngster, what a talent he was.
Shame that talent has disappeared without much of a trace since he and his parents chased the cash and like others before and after him, Arsenal have let all that talent go to waste.
Would be interesting to see if we could get him back on track and see if that genuine talent is still there but I doubt we could afford his wages and damn sure he wouldn't take a pay cut to come back to SMS

Let's mislead ourselves a bit more shall we? It's Biffy Clyro playing the music:

I'm an old sentimentalist, and got a warm fuzzy feeling just seeing Guly playing for us...one of my favourite players in recent years for so many unquantifiable reasons. Oxo on the other hand needs no justification, and I would love to see him back at St Mary's, because if he's fit, he's devastating running at defenders in the same way Mane is.
Nice bit of Biffy too Chilcs.

Beefy said we could afford his wages.

I read somewhere that West Ham were after Benteke and that Liverpool would contribute something like £40,000 a week to his wages.

Sounds like a good deal!

He's on £120,000 a week I heard.

I would love us to sign Benteke or Bony. I know they've both been poor for Liverpool and City (and I've been a big critic of Bony - even when City were first linked to him, I said that it would be an awful move), but I have every faith that they could rediscover their Villa/Swansea scoring exploits with a "lesser" club. And, like Chamberlain as well, both fit right into my target category of going after players who have experienced life at a big club and so might think twice about leaving us for such a club in the future (or those big clubs might think twice about trying to sign them in the future).

I wouldn't want Benteke or Bony here.
