Always find the retained list a bit odd. If you have a contract past the end of June you stay. If you dont, you go. There will be some negotiating a new contract, but that is as a free agent. Some who have contracts will be told they are free to leave. Some will terminate by mutual consent. Others may leave on frees. All that can happen in any transfer window. So what value does a retained list have? Am sitting in eager anticipation of being educated.
Me too. I'm also genuinely surprised Mark Harris has been offered a new contract. Runs around a lot but no end product.
Pleased to read Bagan & King offered new contracts but yes as mentioned above surprised to read Harris also has. Hoping some are sent out on loan or sold.
Needs to be able to do a lot more than that. I've seen no sign of that yet. Hope he can prove me wrong.
I was replying to Remotes comment about Harris suiting Bulut's pressing style. Not Bulut's apparent transfer inactivity.
With the umbongo, the new boss is on the restrained list. Anyone know if there's any progress in that situation?
Everything seems to be in control, new manager and retained list done. I am sorry to see Leahy and Tang go/ As far as the embargo we are dealing with the EFL whose main aim is to fine clubs, give out points deduction and of course embargoes...we could end up with so many clubs on embargoes no one can buy or sell anyone.
Got to say I am disappointed Tom Sang wasn’t retained. He is head and shoulders better than the likes of Rinomhota Sawyers Ralls & Ojo - ok not a like for like player as them but he is young & showed enough IMO to warrant a new deal. I hope for his sake he has a successful career & proves City’s decision wrong
Point taken. He certainly has skill but has failed to establish himself under 4 or maybe 5 managers. There must be some aspect of his game (besides not being a very good right back) or attitude that is not evident to us fans. I wish him luck wherever he goes. Tough for any young player when this happens.
