even back in the Madrox days they said the money will be there when we get promoted but until then we will stay within our means.

Think some of the latest sound bites out of Speakman are more about setting expectations of spending low to both fans and the market. No point shouting loudly to agents and clubs that Sunderland have money to spend. They’ll milk us.
Always the case. I just hope we go for younger teenage talent instead of 20/21 year old squad fillers like we have with the 23s in recent seasons…
