Prior SCORES great finish into top corner on 77 mins #nufc

Jason Prior made reserve team debut and got on the score sheet to make it 3-1! Remie Streete also got his first goal for the reserve team!

Sign him up??

Team: Elliot, Nzuzi, Streete, McDermott, J.Henderson, Kadar, Gosling, Vuckic, Prior, Donaldson (Airey 46), Sa.Ameobi (Inman 58).
Subs n/u: Soderberg, Moyo, Edmundsson.

Aye it's been mentioned on the 'not buying a striker' thread....I'll be interested to see how he gets on, but I'd be surprised if he scores considering this Wigan reserves side will be a gigantic step up in quality for him!

It depends on who Wigan play, really. If they field youth players from front to back, then the quality won't be THAT much higher. I'd say that the youth players of a very low placed side (with no experienced first-team players there) are probably around the League Two quality mark.

Yeah well you see some of our youth players go on loan to teams in League 2 and we have a few younger players in the squad and so will they, so yeah it will be a step up, but not that big in my opinion.

He starts and wears the number nine. He shall score the winner on Sunday against QPR after his hat-trick today.

Nice to see us easing Prior in. Assume he'll be on the bench for QPR and may get some starts before being properly embedded next year. The guy will really kick on, can't wait.

This is OUR youth players too, and we're a big club with a very good youth academy. We've got some right little starlets which many of the lower PL clubs simply won't have.

PS: Watch us get beat by Wigan now.

Maybe I'm being stupid but who is this Prior fella, and why is everyone so excited by him?

He's a trialist from Bogna Regis, 23 years old, but scored something like 95 goals in 119 games. Was going to move to Eastleigh FC for £12,000 before we hijacked the move and offered him an oportunity. Eastleigh, fair play to them, said they wouldn't stand in his way, but WOULD look at compo if he did sign....All in all, if we got the lad for £13k (with Eastleigh getting a grand) I'd be happy!
