Rather than create a new thread, can anybody tell me what does accepting a 'friend request' do? I have received one and wondered before I responded.

Means that someone wants to be your friend ................ no much happens after that ( you can interact off site further if you wish) , I guess it is just acknowledgement that somebody likes your sense of humour / comments, which of course is nice to know.
I have 3 friends listed ( more than I've had in a lifetime!)

Major announcement .................... I know have four (4) friends. ( looks like I won't be having anymore birthday parties in the red phone box across the road and will now look for bigger premises not to mention a TV / record contract.)
