I can think of 4 that cannot be argued against, you must have a defective memory. The most stark example is the 4-4 against Newcastle. Injured when we were 4-0 up on 48 minutes, replaced with Squillacci. The rest as they say is history. Last season vs Man City 3-0. Last season vs Man City 0-0 Last season vs Chelsea just after Christmas 3-1. This year he has not played much in the middle, so I think eveyone forgets.
Terrible logic sorry. If we loaned Djorrou to someone like sunderland he wouldnt play against us and would give sunderland more chance vs the other top sides should he end up being top class (which he could ofc).
Can you with certainty forecast which team next year will play above themselves, like Newcastle/Spurs did this year? Will it be Sunderland perhaps? Everton/Fulham maybe?
If we are behind sunderland then I dont think it will matter where we are. Same with newcaslte this year. They arent that good. They will come 6th as they will get hammered by the chavs and city. Again if we come behidn newcastle this year then thats just depressing.
I would rather vertonghen supplement song at dm and gibbs.at.left back so that we can focus.on getting an am and forget about mvila or any other dm
I don't think JD makes a particularly good RB, but he's a fairly decent back up CB. I've been saying all season that I think we need to add another top quality CB, so that we have a first choice pairing and at least as good second choice pairing. If we get Vertonghen, we'll have Kos, TV, Mert and Vert to choose from - it should give us adequate cover across the back.

Nope, I dont buy that. Arteta--Song--Rosicky is a solid midfield with better defensive qualities than many of our previous teams. They may not have the offensive quality of the likes of Fabregas, Nasri etc.. but defensively and in terms of workrate they offer more protection than previous systems. Our defence is not as good as people are making out. Vertonghen would be a big step in the right direction though.
Agreed. Both TV and Kos have some flaws that cost us goals, Sagna is not that quick and is not hard to go past, and Gibbs is often caught forward (as is Santos). We have lost a lot of goals through basic defesnive errors.
I think its a bit of both, the defence not being as a good as is made out AND a set of players in front of them who leave them exposed. How anyone can claim Song - Arteta - Rosicky is a solid midfield with better defensive qualities than previous teams is beyond me. Better than which previous Arsenal teams ??? I don't look at our defence and have any kind of faith they will keep a clean sheet, no confidence at all. Djourou makes too many mistakes, if you want a squad defender he can't make mistakes but should be of a slightly lower standard to the first choice defenders. Djourou can have games where he is at least as good as our first choice defenders .. but he is mistake prone. Its a dilemma.
