I also think the Keane giving youth a chance is a bit of a fallacy. Without doubt they featured if you check the records when we had a full strength squad to play with it was normally the youngsters that missed out. The only 1 who constantly got a go was Colback on loan from Sunderland.

Keano was usually forced to play youngsters due to his calamitous ideas of squad management.

Eastman and Tommy Smith got lots of games, but largely at full back. I don’t think Eastman ever played in central defence, poor sod.

Strange, but nightmarish as a back line of Eastman (left back) Smith (right back) and a central defensive pairing of Delaney and Troy Brown was, I can’t remember (Swansea at home notwithstanding) being as poor at defending as we’ve been all this season. In fact, Smith, Eastman and Brown would have improved (well...probably) due to their exposure to first team football and we'd probably be better off. Especially with a proper manager.

What in the name of spam does Jewel and his pals do all week?

good point guru.

tractorbhoy, this is why i, and other city fans continue and will continue to make the same comparison. we've been there!! it got to the stage where i, a bloke who played non-league football, genuinely and honestly felt i could do a better job than those pulling on my clubs shirt on a saturday afternoon, and probably would do a better job, then you know the players don't care. it wasn't me just being a fan - 'god, i could do better than you lot' - i genuinely think i would have been better. there is no way i should be better than them, even mark fotheringham!! <laugh>

I actually sat there in the stands at Millwall (not long before nearly getting lynched after my wild celebrations over Bullard’s entirely unexpected goal – that’s what happens when you sit with the enemy away from home) pondering at how Cambridge City, for example (I watch a fair bit of non-league myself), would have put on a better display than my shower.

What level on the pyramid did you reach then, Supers? I’m one of these that regards anyone who played at any half-decent level as some kind of blessed and gifted quasi deity.

My heart goes out to you guys like Guru, Westlake and JWM for ending up with a goons like Clegg and Jewell in charge.

However mad rabid dogs like Spanish and Jonah are reaping what they sow at the moment.

Hey JWM not sure what to say to you to give you solace.

We paid the ultimate humiliation and price with L1 football but bounced back.

Hope you can get rid of Clegg sooner rather than later.

All the best.

The real football fans are in L1 and L2 and the lower leagues.

The best fans I have ever seen and heard were Carlisle Utd.

I hope it doesnt come to it for Ipswich but do you think....it might be for the best ?

Anyway have a great weekend geezer.
