Players to build a team around are Flint and Wright and Korey Smith,in my opinion all the other spots are up for grabs.

[HASHTAG]#shockingseason[/HASHTAG] has LJ learnt from his mistakes,or are we in for the same next season.Time will tell.
Harry turned him over today.

I am ok with Fielding but as extra cover we would do worse than look at John Ruddy who has been released by Norwich?- He even played for us once- Both full backs for me. Sorry, Bryan is so inconsistent now as to be considered not reliable for me. Flint and especially Wright are solid. I would make Wright captain.

Need a good central midfield one that is more creative. Patterson is a definite keep. Smith and Pack are fine for the more defensive aspects and a striker to replace Tammy which will be hard.

We did well at the end, but so did Rotherham last year. I hope that we dont follow their example. We need to build on what we got straight away.

Only RR would suggest we build the team around our centre backs when we had the 6th highest goals conceded in the league <doh>

That is not necessarily the fault of the central defenders. Bristol City often played with no defensive set team shape for months. I feel the central options are a good base to build from.

Of course it's not just down to the CB's, but are they the ones to build a team around? Of course fecking not.

Will Wright and Flint do as our central defensive partnership next season? Yes.
Will they be the ones suitable to mount a play-off push and to take us into the Premier League? No.

It all depends on ambition, and if we genuinely think we can go up, we will need a better CB to partner one of these imo. To be honest, I reckon Magnusson could be that player, if we ever play him. Taylor Moore absolutely needs a look-in next year too.

Then the options at the disposal of Mr Johnson are very healthy. And if all these options were not at fault for the teams frailties it has to be something else - The consistent defensive shape of the team,

I completely agree, I just don't see why you need to twist every thread into a different agenda. The point was whether it's sensible to build the team around Flint and Wright, which it isn't imo. In fact, if you're 'building a team' around a certain player or two, it could be argued that it should never be the centre backs.

I have not twisted anything. My opinion is that Bristol City always had very good central defensive options, and still do.

In regards to your last point. Successful teams are consistently built from a spine - Keeper - Centre of defence - Centre of midfield ...

Make your fu**ing mind up, all season you've been saying LJ should have done way better with the players at his disposal, and then you turn around now and say only 3 are worth keeping!!!!

Words truly fail me!!!
