Not content with that, they advertise the fact by posting "repped" so the person they have repped knows they have been repped and can give some back, thereby boosting their own Rep.

I have seen some truly desperate things in my time but this really takes the proverbial biscuit, so is rep like Green Shield stamps or something? Do you get off on having a massive Rep score, does it make you feel better about yourself? Seriously?

The words of Groucho Marx come to mind when he said "I would not want to be a member of any club that would accept me as a member" (I'm paraphrasing).

In essence, I would much rather have Zero Rep and be oblivious to this whole sad chaarade than spend my waking hours pimping my arse around various forums to get some ethereal and wholly meaningless "reputation" from people I neither know nor respect. What makes it even more Ironic is that some of the best, most humourous posters on these forums have zero Rep, so I'd much rather join them than be aligned with botossers who care about such trivial ****e.

I think the idea behind it was to give people an indication about the person who has the aforementioned 'rep'.

You post comments, and if people like them, or not, they can issue the 'rep' in either positive or negative fashion.

I must admit there is a fair amount of obsessed people on here who like nothing better than to have 65,000,000 rep points... threads such as the 'Rep Brothel' on the Toon board are a good example of where to find these people... <whistle> Ok, i've been whoring it up on there a bit, but it's just a bit of harmless fun to pass the time of day. <ok>

You say you're not bothered by it, yet you've written a thread about it!

I realise that this thread is a double-bluff and that you are in fact looking for people to give you lots of positive rep! <laugh>

Wish I'd thought of it... <yikes> ...I mean, er, I couldn't care less about it.
 
Rep is ****e now, no-one give me funny rep apart from SN who calls me Clown ****er and it's not even that funny

I have to admit I wouldn't have a clue how to " rep " someone but if it was going to make some poor bastard feel that life is worth living I'd do it. Other than that it sounds like arse licking. I concede I may be wrong due to ignorance of the subject but to actively want people to give you rep sounds pretty ****ing sad.

I can assure you it's no double bluff, I genuinely don't care and I did want to go back to Zero but it appears to have backfired.

Anyone with a score of 65,000,000 could send me back to Zero so there's still hope <ok>

I used to like the fun of anonymous rep ...

Albert's Chip Shop repped me and to my horror, now I look like another ****ing rep whore <ashamed>

Then that weird mental spastic Joker neg repped me a few days ago for a post 3 months ago, which is just ****ed up. Generally, I agree with the OP, low or no rep is the new rep ...I mean, ...oh fuggit

In my defence, I give out nothing but abuse, yet still get positive rep :confused:
