He said caterham wasn't for sale 48h before he sold it. He does have a history of flat out lying in the media but the difference is caterham don't really have fans so it doesn't matter. QPR won't like being lied to.
It could as easily be a way of drumming up suitors - he only uses the present tense and by calling him world class he reaffirms his quality.
Caterham F1 team was very publicly up for sale for at least 3 weeks before it was bought. The Caterham car manufacturing company which he also owns was not up for sale. "He does have a history of flat out lying in the media" That's a pretty serious accusation, care to back it up with some examples? And I don't mean examples where circumstances have changed since he made his statements. Or will you conveniently have me on ignore again to avoid the question?

Okay is semantics- bringing in investors for investment on the back of his comments at the start of the season means that it is not too suprising that the investors are interested only if they have control- hence they end up being sold Now for explaining/ expanding on:
I've explained, he said it wouldn't be sold 5 weeks before it was sold. End of. That's a lie, you can try to twist it any way you want but its still a lie. No doubt you'll say he wasn't lying about Remy either if he does get sold too.
Looking at those links, he was after new investors. Investors come along saying "We'll buy the team and put in all the money it needs". Tony says "OK" (presumably because the alternative may have been the team folding after this season through lack of investors). Sorry, but I can't see where he's lied. You don't know what the terms of the investment was, however historically people with that kind of money to pump into a sporting team want control - just think back to Tango and Cash with us, the Glazers at Man Utd, the yanks at Liverpool, Abramovich at Chelsea, pretty much anyone who has ever owned an NFL franchise, etc. etc. It's not lying, it's business. Very different.
Flyer can't tell the difference between the Caterham Group, which included the F1 team, GP2 team and Caterham Sportscars, and the F1 team. The F1 team has been sold, not the rest. So, in the link provided by Flyer, TF's statement that the Caterham Group was not for sale is accurate. I'll wait patiently for the list of his other 'flat out lies'.
Interesting what SB says – so what was being sold may be mis-interpreted- Even so because I’m more interested in the “history of lies” allegation in the statement because that was far more serious.
When I drove past it yesterday it seemed that the Caterham Cars showroom in Caterham has been knocked down and is in the process of being replaced by an old folks home. Hopefully that is not an indication of TF's thinking.
