you are aware there's football outside the PL? He said he joined for the future plans which is a new training ground, new stadium and new long term goals.
We're pretty good at this ruining football lark aint we? I mean, forget 50m on Torres, 35 on Carroll, 20 on Henderson and Downing and the endless list of 30m+ deals, this £8m transfer is the tip of the iceberg. The cheek of us ****s, lets not to mention this was our record transfer deal and we've never spent more than 5m on a player before, and Southampton who are also relegation candidates spent 12m on Ramirez.

"It was a little strange as we had obviously put a lot of work in and made the club an offer that was accepted, a good offer," Pardew said. "We made a fantastic offer to the player and then he didn't arrive. This club is on a financial footing that is strong, but we're still not going to pay silly money. "We're going to pay what is correct and that is what we offered. "We made a fantastic offer, a fantastic Premiership offer to that player - trust me. "I don't really want to criticise the player. The player makes the decision and he stands by it. I don't really have anything else to say on it." http://www.teamtalk.com/news/2483/8403217/Pardew-surprised-by-Remy-snub
Add to that the £7m they paid for Jay Rodriguez. A championship striker who's not ever been that impressive. And Blackburn a champinship club with owners who in compariosn to ours are paupers paid £8m for Jordan Rhodes who's main success has been in League One!!!!! We've paid £8m for a very highly rated 26 year old striker who is proven at International level for France and established at Champions League level. Now you have all these one team towns like Newcastle getting above their station. Newcastle have sold their best centre forward in two consecutive seasons, will now be selling their best defender and their most creative player wants to go to PSG. Added to this they are also in a relegation dog fight, were recently played off the park by a championship team I love that we are ruffling a few feathers and upsetting these football snobs. Siege mentality amongst the fans and players would only help us.
Nice little dig by Pardew but what does one expect from that muppet? I have read posts from idiots that know nothing about our club or how we run it. In one breath Chelsea can spend £50m on a flop and all is ok yet we spend £8M on a player and we are going down and doing a 'Pompey'? Saints can spend £40M on players and its all fine yet we get some players and we are doing a 'Pomey'? Newcastle have outbid smaller clubs for players in the past as we have. The fact is that Remy wanted London/Money/QPR and not Newcastle. In the past we have done deals with players only to find a Spurs/Arse/west Ham/ManU even Saints have come in and got the player. It's a fact of life like Pardew was a crap player at Palace and it was only that goal against Liverpool that gave him a name because all my Palace mates thought he was a 'dick Head' before that goal.
London not excactly Stockholm but you get my point
Norway classic!!! I like the 'bint' in that green top. Actually i think TF showed Remy a that video and the deal was done.
Norwich fans. Dear oh dear. (Infinitely) More importantly, I am a little concerned about the weight of expectation that likely will rest on Remy's shoulders. Had a flashback to the signing of Nick Ward who was unveiled in the summer of 2006 as an amazing new player for QPR before being shipped off to Brighton on loan the following January. I do realise that Remy is in a different class than Perth Glory's finest but I am just a tad concerned that, given our position, we may make the same mistake we have made so many times before ie looking for instant success. Having said all of that, sublime cross from Ward away to Cardiff to be slotted home by Langers (if I recall correctly) for the win!! COYRssssss!!
Apparently Remy preferred a lie in to even going up to Newcastle to check it out. Pardew beginning to sound desperate. His goal scorer walks out, his other one isn't scoring, nobody wants to come, enter the Ameobi brothers, to general hilarity.
