I see where you are coming from but I think there must a dispirited hopelessness to being a family member of a murder victim. That feeling of having all the power taken away from you. It's just my opinion though. A close friend of the family committed suicide a few years back and the difference for me was that you could at least see the signs and think about how you could have helped or acted differently. This allows you to learn and not make the same mistakes again. With a murder victim it's the lack of control that must make it so hard.

I realise that. had a distant family member kill herself. Turned out it was Post Natal Depression back in the days it was not common/heard of Never told a soul. Her family always blamed themselves for not picking it up etc also felt angry at her and then felt even more guilty
