just noticed that of our remaining 10 games 7 are against teams above ,5 of the top six , little bit concerned we could get dragged into relegation territory, next 2 games must win for me

Palace - 1 point.
West Brom - 1
Man City - 0
Chelsea - 0
Hull - 3
Liverpool - 0
Middlesbrough - 3
Stoke - 3

Arsenal - 1
Manchester United - 0

12 points - total of 46. That would have us very safe and those predictions are me being very pessimistic.

If we draw against Hull and lose the other nine, we will stay up.

I wouldn't say the next 2 are must win, and I worry for your state come Saturday 5pm as they are very tough games which we have no right to expect to win.

I hope @fatletiss is right though, and we do take some points from some big teams, our record is poor against them this year, probably worst since being promoted again..

Going on those results if hull were to win there next 2 games we would be only 3 points above them , if wee lost the next two as you predict by the time we played hull we could be below them

Yeah we're not totally safe yet but we should pick up the points we need. Mind you, lose against Palace and the game against Hull could end up being quite a big one.

Jeez ....

I love the way optimism abounds at times. We have been here before. I particularly remember looking towards the end of a season in the championship when it looked as if we must go down and we strolled it. Equally, the season we did go down there were some easily winnable games on the menu and we ****ed it up royally! Two points to remember. Generally teams at the bottom tend to lose games - it's why they are there. Secondly, we are Southampton - nothing is predictable. It's why we love the buggers, but hate them in equal measure!

As people say never say never, but I think people forget that for a team in our position to get relegated requires that we flop monumentally and all but two teams below us succeed monumentally. The chances of that are very slim....we need just a couple of wins and I'm sure we will do better than that.

We'll finish between 9th and 13th, and I'm pretty happy with that this season.
I agree with that...our league games haven't been played at our usual standard, but we've had a Cup Final and some good results in the Europa (so near, yet so far). It's been inconsistency this season, but losing VVD and Austin was a blow for us. Keep our team together and have a good preseason and we could see a much better side next season with our manager having learned from his eventful first season.

Won't take me very long to forget it. The one I won't forget is the season when we do the league double over Everton and Tottenham Hotspur. I reckon around 2056 - oh sugarpuffs I'll be dead or 93.

The only time I recall a double over Everton they beat us in the Cup semi-final. Yep, that Adrian Heath season again. Suspect we didn't do the double over Spurs. Anyone remember us ever doing so?

Did we beat at home the year we won at WHL and got Hoddle sacked?
