Shola, Best and Lover are all older and worse than Carroll, Ranger is younger and can be better.

Doubt Spurs will do business, so rule out Pav or Crouch. The only person I can think of off the top of my head who I'd like is Landon Donovan but there isnt even time for him to fly over. Some of the names mentioned are awful play Ranger and build the team around him as we were going to do with Carroll.
not really our record with out him has been no worse than with him it's the timing,doesn't leave a lot of time left to buy anyone (unless kuyt on loan is part of the deal)
besides anyone supporting the toon during the 80's will have seen this time after time and it doesn't come as a shock
