That is the problem with people on here. They call your argument stupid/******ed without explaining why they think so or offering alternative arguments. I am getting disillusioned with the whole thing to be honest.

Explain why atheism is a religion (<doh>), why the fact that people reject the existence of a God proves one exists (<doh>) and also the relevance of a person's cultural background.

    just to furtehr explain

there are 2 arguements athiests have

1 - lack of evidence that god exists
2 - it is illogical that god exists , there is evidence to the contrary

those who simply 'lack faith/belief' etc without the need for justification, there is no issue

but why get involved in gods 'existence' if you dont believe in it?

and those that do argue generally attack christianity, contradictions in the bible, perceived philosophical difficulties related to God, and what they consider as logical evidences against God's existence and that the evolution theory is a scientific fact

For those who have faith, no proof is necessary and for those who don't have faith, no proof is possible.

This is basic as i need to go but will check in later

1 - religion is a 'belief' structure as is athiesm. read last posts re non thiest and anti theist.
2 - most people are anti theist as in anti god, to be anti something it has to 'exist'
3 - the background is relevant as people tend to rebel against 'what they know'. and as explained before most athiest arguements are based on the 'christian god' and catholocism specifically

Atheist "arguments"? What are you talking about? One minute you're talking about general rejection of a general God, the next you're talking about The Bible and Evolutionary Theory.

A God - Unnecessary, unlikely, implausible and unproven.

The Christian God - Illogical, impossible, unnecessary and easily falsified.

I do love theists that believe that the fact that people disagree with them proves their point.
Do people that don't believe in the Loch Ness Monster prove it's existence, too?

Why shouldn't atheists get involved in the god debate?
Leaving aside the obvious reasons, like theists making some poor choices on the back of their beliefs that affect everyone, why wouldn't you want atheists to get involved?
To go back to the previous example, should people that don't believe in the Loch Ness Monster keep quiet?

    firstly see last post

I am responding to others as well, so if its confusing apologies

To you i have addressed specifically

as for your red bits and subsequent explanation

yes i agree if it is 'god' as in the guy in white robes etc
    which explains your second bit

here is a thought - christianity maybe argued against (as per your assertion) but what has christianity got to do with the existence of god?

there are millions who dont accept christianity but believe in god

see the problem here is not 'god' in his entirety its certain religions

Its like westerners who are 'buddhist' because they wear beads around their wrists and meditate or do yoga

    that isnt buddhism

or muslims who have a pencil line beard, pretending its for religious purposes, they fast during ramadan but spend the end of it in a club

sorry if it seems all over the shop, i am in a rush

you have missed the point methinks

having a rational debate about the existence of a creator is one thing

but how can being anti theist make you athiest?

as mentioned previously (which you chose to ignore?) those who get on with it, get on with it

on here its like the old 'devil worshippers'. you know

'hey dude i dont believe in god, i worship the dark lord' etc etc

the devil only exists if you believe in god <doh>

    PS

    forgot to add

    with the nessie example

they dont try and replace a fictional character, with a fictional theory whose author didnt believe it

If you don't think that evolution is a fact, then you're a moron.
You've been lied to by theists who are trying to protect their myths.
This is one of the reasons that atheists get involved in the god debate.

Even if evolution were proven to be completely false, that's not evidence that any god exists.
Perhaps you'd be taken more seriously if you actually offered some evidence for your position, rather than against one that you claim others hold?

How can being anti-theist make you an atheist?
    It can't.
    They're two totally separate things.

That is the point i was making if you would care to read properly

most 'athiests' are not athiest, they are anti god
Their belief is based on proving others wrong rather than expressing what their belief is

kinda like what your accusing me of

PS I dont believe evolution is fiction
In fact i believe without evolution we would not be where we are today

However, as i mentioned before (with my buddhism analogy), what most people peddle as evolution theory
as in the anti theists is a load of bollocks

people fail to realise that the evolution theory was not a 'darwin' thing. It existed before him. He added the 'survival of the fittest' bit to what already existed
    and that is bullshit
    imo of course
