Sorry if this has been covered in another thread but, unless the results of the last 14 matches greatly improve on the results of the matches up till now, I cannot see us surviving despite an injection of ' talent' on the January window. IF we base survival on 40 points then how do we secure 17 points from the remaining fixtures? At best I see the results going as follows:

Villa away 3points
WHU home 1 point
Leicester away 0 points
Chelsea home 1 point
Swansea away 1 point
Man C home 0 points
WBA away 1 point
Newcastle home 3 points
C Palace away 0 points
Sunderland home 3 points
Watford home 1 point
Arsenal away 0 points
Man U home 1 points
Everton away 0 points

W3 D6 L5

These are long range predictions and can only see the Swansea result as a possible win instead of draw.
I think we are once again watching for other results for survival and one again can only hope that there are three teams worse than us come the end of the season. This is the depressing reality of life in the Premiership for NCFC. Do we really enjoy this constant dog fight to survive and the football that it produces?

Unless we get lucky, I wouldn't argue with your predictions and that's assuming we DO get 3 points on Saturday. If we fall at the first hurdle for whatever reason, then I don't believe we will avoid relegation.
I do like seeing some of the stars who ply their trade in the PL, but at least in the Championship, we can go into every game knowing we can win!!!
 
Yes, it was. I think we can assume that Villa are down, so that leaves two others. The most worrying aspect is that teams like Bournemouth and Swansea have staged a revival of late, the most encouraging that Newcastle and Sunderland have not. A win tomorrow at Villa would change things a bit, putting us back within range of the clubs just above us. Newcastle v WBA tomorrow is crucial,a home win would put The Baggies back on the fringe. One to watch Palace, just a single point from their last six games, five fewer than us. They probably have enough but they will be worried, GD of - 11 in those six games.

Looking ominous now after a good Christmas / New Year run. We cannot rely on others and need to get to 40 points in all probability. Your guesses Cityslicker look pretty good to me, West Ham and wst Brom games are the two I think we can 'upgrade' but the villa game is immense!
And of course, Sunderland will storm the last 4 or 5 games as ever, it is the 11th commandment!

If we get those results I like HMQC think we would likely survive. I can't see the cut off being higher than 38 this year. I do think that we have chances of more points in a number of the other matches too. Of the last 6 matches, only Arsenal away looks nailed on for no points, the rest unless we are dead men walking after a very poor Feb/March all have possibilities for points, even all 3! Man U and Everton are both eratic and beatable and couple that with where they are, they could be on the beach at that stage with little to play for. Watford have been good this season, but you have to be in a really negative frame of mind to think that at home the best we can hope for is a draw! Ditto WBA away, I know our away record is truly shocking but as the home side there will be plenty of pressure on them.

I was really confident after Christmas and if we had managed to beat Liverpool I would have still had that confidence...... amazing how much a result like that can change your perspective. I have said from the start of the season that it would be really tight for us and its certainly going to be. Wouldn't it be nice if we were the team to have a late surge for once? In reality, I see us picking up more points than above but getting relegated with 40 points!

Think we are pretty certain for the drop unfortunately.

We can't defend for love or money and other teams around us seem to be stringing some draws or wins together.

In typical Norwich fashion I think Villa will beat us on Saturday and we'll finish the season 19th.

We're not 'certain' for the drop at all. Villa are as close to that as you can get at the moment.

However, I would say we're about as likely to go down as Newcastle.
 
Said many times we started 20th will do exceptionally well to finish 17th

Our main chance is that Villa, Sunderland, Newcastle and Swansea are every bit as inconsistent as us
Think whatever the result tomorrow is Villa are done so that probably gives us a 50/50 chance of being in the top two of those four

I too think the Villa hoodoo might strike us again - I have a nasty feeling this one is going to go horribly wrong

Very difficult to predict any outcome towards the end of the season where funny old things can, do and will happen so I'm not going to bother even trying. I would say thought that I do expect a couple of the teams down there (hopefully we're one of them) to go on a bit of a run so I personally wouldn't pay too much attention to the usual points per game, as I think this could be one of those rare seasons where 40 point might not be enough.

To be honest the way we've been defending of late I'm struggling to see where another win is going to come from, let alone 5 of them which is what we need. All that hard work at the end of last season and the glory of that Wembley final seems ages ago. The best we can hope for at Villa is a point IMO, hope I'm wrong but it's all set up for a typical Canary capitulation in a must win game once more. :emoticon-0107-sweat

The thing is, throughout all seasons, every season, we and every other team has runs of good results and runs of bad results. I'm sure that back in December Swansea were wondering where the next win would come from. Likewise Bournemouth.

But they do come. Even for Villa. We will go on a run of good results at some point in the rest of the season. What we just need is for it to be a good long run, and possibly to have two good runs. Then we'll be fine.

Swansea's, Bournemouth's and other's good runs will come to an end at some point. Again, it's not much comfort cos it's out of our control, but we just want it to happen sooner rather than later. <ok>

A lot of us were thinking the worst after our atrocious October. Then we had a good November and December and we all perked up again!

It's silly to say "oh I don't know where we'll get the required points from". It'll be tough no doubt, but let's not completely lose the faith eh?

Your predictions are wrong already, you lost to Villa. I think on form, you and Villa are going down with the last spot between Sunderland, Newcastle, Swansea and maybe WBA
 
I have to agree with many posters on various forums when they say the three for the drop looks like ..
Norwich
Sunderland
Villa

I would like to see Norwich survive but i cant see how with what i saw against villa who could not buy a win all season. We are not much better but we are getting wins and draws and have not lost for a while....Good luck and i hope you get some form soon as long as its not at the expense of us of course.....WBA looks a good target the way they are going and you play them soon....
